CRM & Sales Intelligence
Joe takes a pragmatic approach to CRM by choosing tools based on who actually uses them, rather than chasing a single system of record.
HubSpot – Primary CRM for the go-to-market team
“I mean, the two that come to mind are Attio and HubSpot. We use HubSpot just because I wanted to make it easy for our AEs to just use the tool that they want to use. I don’t use it. So they just use it.”
Attio – Startup-friendly CRM alternative
“Attio is like a simpler, more startup-friendly CRM. Although I feel like depending on your use case, you can just build your own CRM nowadays too.”
Vibe Coding & AI Development
Claude Code – Team-wide development, marketing, and growth platform
“Our entire team uses Claude Code, not just in the technical fashion, but across growth and marketing as well.”
“We’ll use it for A/B testing changes to our website. We’ll build playbooks. So for example, we did a full gallery of us tearing down and marking up top product-led growth onboarding experiences from top companies. We had a big searchable interactive gallery. We built all of that in Claude Code. Put our learning academy or university in Claude Code.”
OpenClaw – Self-hosted AI agent with database and workflow access
“We also use OpenClaw. So we have an OpenClaw instance hosted on DigitalOcean that has some access to our database. So it can do different functions for us. For example, if I’m like, hey, can you extend this person’s trial by fourteen days — it’ll go back and forth with me and it’s like, oh, this person has this workspace, is this the one you want to extend?”
“Everything’s hooked up into Linear and Slack so that we can talk in Linear and Slack and it actually goes out and creates the draft PR or does the action and does different things. And we just verify and then merge it.”
Cursor – AI-powered IDE for multi-model development
“Developers, for example, will use both Codex and Claude Code and they’ll run both simultaneously through Cursor and take the best output and craft with it.”
AI Models & Daily Workflow
Claude – Primary tool for programming and development
“Claude is more so just pure programming for me on my side. Anything outside of programming I usually do on ChatGPT or just with an OpenAI key.”
ChatGPT – Scripting, fact-checking, and content crafting
“ChatGPT I use a lot for crafting things. So like auditing scripts, crafting scripts, fact-checking documents. Fact-checking some things that I’m doing and turning it into prompts that I want to put into Claude Code on the terminal.”
“Pretty much everyone on the team has like three subscriptions and they will use whatever gives them the best output. So we’ll rotate through.”
Project Management & Internal Knowledge
Linear – Technical tickets and engineering workflows
“We use Linear. Most business-oriented things we do on Notion, but anything technical, on Linear.”
Notion – Business documentation and internal knowledge base
“Notion is more like a brain dump of discussions and things. Internal knowledge base.”
Productivity & Sales Automation
Rather than relying on traditional productivity tools, Joe builds custom AI automations that handle the systematic work he knows he’d otherwise let slip.
Fathom – Meeting transcription and recall
“I’ve recorded all my meetings on Fathom historically. It’s just that it’s already plugged in and I’m used to it. That’s the reason I use it.”
Zo – AI-powered workflow automation for follow-ups
“One thing I built is an automation that goes in and checks my calendar every single day on what demos I had over the last seven days. And it will see if I followed up with that person, and it has an MCP to Fathom, my meeting recorder. So it’ll actually read the transcript. And if I haven’t responded yet, it’ll make the draft for me.”
“At 8 AM every day, it sends me all the draft links of what I need to send. Like, this customer, this customer, this customer. Gives me the draft. And then I click the draft and I review it and tweak and send.”
Content & Marketing
Riverside – Video recording and long-form to short-form editing
“I just started using Riverside for video recording. That’s always good… If you’re looking to turn long form into short form clips, it’s actually pretty good.”
“The editing is pretty solid. It’s a little confusing UX-wise, I have to say, but the editing is pretty solid.”
Veed – Video editing
“I’ve used Veed in the past, which is like a video tool.”
Custom GPT – Written content generation trained on personal data
“A lot of the written content I do myself and I have my own custom GPT that is trained on my data.”
